Can the Asus Strix gtx 970 single 8-pin connector affect performance?

I'm still deciding between some graphics cards and I'm mostly comparing them with the Asus one. Unfortunately this card only has one 8-pin connector and I don't know if this should be a problem to performance while gaming.
My question is, should this be a problem for the graphics card's power consumption? And would it affect performance, like I already explained?

Also, another question if you would like to answer, could this single 8-pin power connector affect cable management and include cable connection incompatibilities (requiring and adapter of some kind)

Performance? No. Overclocking? On the higher end, yes.
The single 8 pin should have no incompatibilities, and no cable management issues.

It will run no problem, the card would not ship without a way for proper power delivery.
