Hey guys,
am having core 2 duo E8500 3.16GHZ processor with the CM seidon 120v plus water cooling.. So. if i overclocked my cpu from 4.0~4.5GHZ will the seidon 120v plus handle it quite good without overheating?
PSU: cooler master elite 500 ver.2
case: Cooler master N200 pc case
RAM: 6gb DDr3 kingston dual channel
Thanks <3

Solution
Frequency doesn't affect thermals, voltage does. Getting 4.5GHz at 1.3V and 4.5GHz at 1.4V will have a massive difference in thermal output. So yeah it will really depend on how lucky you are.
The Seidon 120v will allow you to find the limits of your CPU and keep temps in check.... Whether you reach a high overclock as you are expecting is up to the silicone lottery (I.E. how good of a chip you actually have).

If you haven't already purchased, consider the NXZT X31 or the Zalman LQ-300.
