Can the GX 550 power old high end and future gpu

Currently I have the 6790 but in 2-3 years I may upgrade to the 6850 equivalent at time (possibly 7xxx series) or some older high end card from the 6xxx series will it be good enough

6790 and the 6850 not too much different performance, if you want upgrade get HD 6970 it's will be different too much. yep i 'm not sure about review GX500W .. for better if you want upgrade VGA get PSU high recommend

What do you think that will the future mid range upper mid range cards will be more power efficient or not.
