so i want to buy a new pair of headphones the sennheiser hd598 but their frequency is 12hz up to 38.5 is it just marketing or should i be able to hear it my ears are fine and im 15 years old
While the 20KHZ number is thrown out a lot, what they don't mention is what affect harmonics have on those sound waves. A 20KHZ sound - which you can hear will be affected by a 60KHZ sound that you can't hear.

Probably won't make a bit of difference to an untrained ear. If you sit and listen to live orchestra every day, you'd be able to tell the difference, but for 99% (everyone else) it won't make any difference.
