i was wondering if the Kingston hyperx beast 8gb's of ram could run on a processor that is not 3rd or 4th gen such as the i5's and i7's. The processor i have at the moment is a dual core intel pentium D, can these still work on it or will i need an i5???

The brand of RAM is not important, its actually what variety of RAM the motherboard uses. By that I mean, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4...So knowing the motherboard will give us that info. You can run the program CPU-z (google) to determine which board you have.

If you have DDR3, you may be able to run it on a new system. Probably not though since older DDR3 runs with a higher voltage, which may damage i-series chips. I think you need RAM that runs under 1.6v or you risk damaging the mem controller in those chips.

Ive downloaded CPU Z how do i know what type of RAM my board supports? On the memory tab it says i havee DDR2 RAM but it don't tell me on the motherboard tab. What ram or the max ram it can support??

In CPU-Z:
Open the Mainboard tab, and report back with the Manufacturer and Model of the motherboard.

Are you asking for the amount of RAM you could put in the current board? I thought you were asking if you could recycle your Kingston RAM for a new machine. DDR2 will not be compatible with current gen motherboards or chips, which are using DDR3 (you have DDR2).
