Yes, it does boot from m.2. However keep in mind that if using the M.2 port SATA ports 5 & 6 will be disabled, as they effectively provide the channels for the M.2 port itself.

Thank you for the quick post.. i looked over the review and did not see anything stating that it could boot from M.2.
i plan i buying the SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 256GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V5P256BW
i just want to make sure before i buy it, one other question, to use the NMVe do i need the host card?

Yeah, the review doesn't exactly say that you can boot from it, but it's implied by the fact that it's part of the sata controller and regardless, m.2 is meant to be bootable. The NMVE depends on the firmware side of your hardware, which is supported in this motherboard.
