[SOLVED] can the Noctua be used with heatsink of stock cooler?

Hi, planning to buy an NFA12x25 to replace the fan of my cpu cooler. Can I just remove the old intel fan, replace it with the Noctua, then use the old heatsink? I mean, assuming the Noctua fits, then would it have a better cooling effect than the stock fan?

well, in case it does not fit.. I have the backup plan of just using the Noctua as a case fan.

but a new cooler going to be better than the stock intel cooler
