Can the Radeon do this?

I am about to buy a new video card, and leaning towards a Radeon 9600/9700/9800 Pro/non-Pro. As I haven't been able to find an answer to this question anywhere else, I thought someone here might know.

With my current Nvidia card (Ti4200) I am able to surf the net (monitor) and watch a movie on TV (thru TV-out) simultaneously. Does the Radeon allow for this? Does it work well?

Thanks!

What I can tell you for sure, is that even my old but lovely Radeon 8500 is able to work that way with monitor and TV (yes, that's great! For exemple, I use to watch a film while downloading a file). So it is granted in newer models.

Maybe I'm wrong, but my guess is that GF4 Ti4200 is not able to do it. At least with my GF3 Ti500 I haven't discovered yet ...

Hope this helps!

Still looking for a good online retailer in Spain :frown:

I just got the 9800 pro....been experimenting with it.
DVI port at 1 resolution......
VGA port at different resolution......
TV out at higher resolution that normat TV (but not HDTV)

all at the same time with different images or cross over (DVI and VGA only)

hope this helps,
I really like it.
