Can the ryzen 5 1600x go to 165hz

Bought the predator 28 4k monitor have gtx 1070... just bought ryzen 5 1600x wanna know if this was a bad decision cause I am reading...now....that it is max at 120hz and stays at 1080p ....bottlenecking too??

I'm not sure I understand. You have the 28" Predator 4K? It tops out at 60Hz. What exactly is your question?

The maximum achievable frame rate on a CPU varies drastically from game to game.

That said, no current GPU will do anywhere near 100Hz in most games and as posted above, worrying about anything beyond 60Hz is pointless on a 60Hz (max) display. If you wanted 165Hz refresh, you should have bought the 27" 1440p model.

Almost anything can play 4k, at that point you are normally GPU limited...

Resolution alone has little to no effect on CPU load unless the game is doing CPU-based post-processing.

With a GTX1070, you'll be GPU-bound most of the time at 4k unless you turn down details a bit.
