is there better performers than the T.R.U.E?
i've seen the Xigmatek HDT-S1283, Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer & OCZ Vendetta 2.
but can these actually beat the T.R.U.E when pushing a Q6600 to 3.6 & beyond?
i had my mind set on getting the T.R.U.E but now i cant decide?????
:beurk:

I think the TRUE is still on top but there are other's that have been getting very popular lately because they offer almost identical performance for a much lower price. The Xigmatek seems to be leading becuse it's about $37 including fan where as with a good fan the TRUE will cost you about $70.

Yup, I have both. And the TRUE still wins by 4c over at my place. (Lapped true.) I guess it depends on the OC, but usually 3.6 needs a good cooler.

The Xiggy will do in a budget. Is 4 c worth 30 more bucks? I thought so! I had the TRUE first, but hey, 37 bucks on the other. I can at least try it out!

But still, TRUE and an Ultra Kaze!

Or this new fan someone showed me! 220 CFM?? 4600 RPM?? 120mm? Wow, this thing looks great!

(Edit* Errr, I wish the fan was 54600 RPM like I had it saying!)

There are alot of decent solutions here now. The TRUE is a great heatsink, and if you want to spend the big dollars, go for it. My money is on a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 with the bolt thru kit. Its cheap, its get the job done, equals a winner for me.

Go look at http://www.frostytech.com/ IMO. They test a little more thoroughly than most sights.

I was excited to see the performance of the IFX-14 before it's release but since then the reviews I've read have been dissapointing. The performance doesn't justify it's extremely high price from what I've read.

I agree about the Noctua and for once, we of the north, can get a better price than what you can get south of the border. Don't be too aggravated, because 98% of the times you get a hell of lot better deals on most everything even though our money is almost on par with yours. Someone is filling his pockets up North and it's not me..........

Well, I liked the IFX-14 reviews, actually, except for price and size. OK, let's forget the IFX-14.

TBH if I needed a cooler today I'd buy the Xigmatek HDT-S1283. It may be a couple of degrees behind the TRUE/SFF21F, but I'm not that worried about it, and it's half the price.
