Can the WAN port be connected to the landline using RJ11 to RJ45 connector?

I had bought a router instead of a modem. Can the i connect the WAN port to the landline using the RJ11 to RJ45 connector?

wont work. wan port is designed to be connected to a modem (which translates the landline signals to Ethernet signals)

No, but now all you need is a modem and the router will become useful. My DSL provider gives out free little DSL modems (Speedstream 4200), perhaps yours does too.
