Can the Windows 10 ISO Beta be used as the only OS on your PC?

Hello everyone,

As I'm sure most of you know, Microsoft recently released the Windows 10 ISO file for beta trials. What I would like to know is whether or not I have to buy Windows 8.1 to run this file or if I can just install the Windows 10 ISO from a laptop and transfer the file to a USB and plug into my newly built gaming PC (which has no OS) and run Windows 10 beta as the main OS.

Thanks in advance!

It's not polished and frankly doesn't really offer anything I need over Windows 8.1 -- being able to paste into CMD prompt using CTRL V is about 10 years too late for me to care(I've always used Right Click, Paste) and outside of that it offers multiple desktops which Linux/Unix has done/provided for a good 20 years or so and with Windows it's pretty easy to just press WindowsKey+L and jump into another profile if you needed someone to be using something other than your own desktop etc

The Start Menu is some hybrid of original windows + 8/8.1 and I personally have no use for a Start menu so it's irrelevant to me.

Give it a whirl, by all means.. but it's not polished and I had weird niggles with file transfers and gaming performance etc..
