Question Can thermal "glue" dry up ?

I know that thermal paste would eventually dry up and needs to be replaced...

How about thermal glue ? Does it dry up ? or is it eternal ?

glue in its definition is not eternal., but it cures and the molecule of the material forming glue becomes (or can become) hard as steel depending on the composition.

These are very different things.

If you're thinking of using thermal glue between your heatsink and CPU, do not do this.

It's for attaching things that you intend to not take apart in normal use.

Some PS3 models use thermal glue under the IHS. Any attempts to delid would break the die...

If we are talking about a ps3 I wouldn't worry about the "glue" under the IHS going bad. If your temps are bad just repaste it.

It's intended to be a permanent bond, but any adhesive can dry or become less effective over time.

How about thermal conductivity ? Will it weaken over time ? How about thermal epoxy ?
