Hello, Tom's Hardware forums.
I've been doing a little research on a small living room pc. I have a msi h110mpro motherboard, Intel 6100, and a geforce 1050 2gb and 8 gigs of ddr4 2133mhz on the list so far. could those specs run these games at at least medium settings 1080 or 900p?
Sky rim - Special Edition
Bio shock Infinite
Ark: Survival evolved
Star Wars battlefront (1 & 2)
Battlefield 4
Shadow of Mordor
GTA V
Warframe
Fallout 4
My other question is (although rather off topic) is if it is possible to connect a wireless xbox controller to a pc on steamOS or windows 10. Thanks, and sorry for the long message.

Solution
Your PC is on the low end, and so you will have to compromise with graphics settings. But yes, it can play modern games and at 1080p (on medium, like you wanted).
You might want to play Skyrim, not the SE as SE uses larger textures.
There are many MODs on Nexus for Skyrim and the fallout series to help performance.
It is possible to connect a wireless xbox controller as well.

Thanks, bjornl, for the quick response. would it be worth it to get a higher end graphics card? i could get a better cpu but as I already own the motherboard, ram and cpu i'd prefer to leave them alone.
And as to the xbox controller if i have that wireless adapter can i use any xbox one wireless controller?

In my opinion the sweet spot on the graphics cards starts with the 1050TI 4gb version (runs around 150-170 depending on clock rate).
As for the controller <> adapter question. I think so. I bought one for my son, but they came was a kit. When I bought one for myself, I bought a wired one as I hate swapping batteries at the worst time.

Alright, thank you. For that money on the graphics card should I just shoot for a 1060 3gb? The problem is that it's such a small case it takes a special psu that is only 450 watts

The 1060 3gb is faster but it is around $200. It will need a 6pin power adapter from your powersupply. Both the 1060 and 1050ti are fairly small. They make short and low versions of both. (Low profile and/or 1/2 length).
It is a tough call. It really depends on what you want to spend. Both should get you medium to medium high on any game you want to play at 1080p/60fps.
