Well I'll post my 5yrs old build, but I'm interested in playing in 2k max settings with ideally 120fps min in all games. I got 2 yrs ago a new gpu (probably a mistake) If you can give me advice on the topic and what parts needs to be switched/upgraded. As for the budget maybe 2.5k usd I can add.

-16gb ram (2X8 2133 MHz vengeance)
-i7-6700k
-Z170-A
-Amd radeon rx vega 64
-Seasonic prime PX-1000
The rest doesn't really matter, but I'm still looking for a 2k monitor preferably IPS panel (I don't care about the 1-5 ms)

Thank you in advance

I’m running a 2080 Super and 1440p. To get 120fps average in COD MW I have to run medium settings and RT off. To stand a chance of running 120fps at max settings you should wait and see what the new 3090 delivers when it launches.
Should be fine. Since you [presumably] own the tower already, just buy the monitor. Then you'll know for sure if/what upgrades are needed.

Check my system (in signature). I game on a 1440p 144Hz monitor (Samsung C27HG70). I'm not saying my system is ideal for 1440p gaming, but it works.

If the only thing that makes a game worth playing is the [unnoticeable] visual difference between playing it on ULTRA vs High (or even Med-High ), then the game probably isn't good anyway.

I'll then wait for the new gpu release, thank you
