Can this cpu bottleneck my rig?

I have 8 gigs of ram, i7 870 (pretty old I know). And my new MSI gtx 970 100ME will arrive soon enough with witcher 3 and arkham knight. Will my cpu bottleneck this system? I would like to play witcher 3 1080P on high settings (maybe low shadows if needs be) 60 fps. Thanks for the answer.

Absolutely not. The i7-870 is still, IMHO, a very good processor especially considering when ppl still are using their Core2Quads to play games.

I can't speak for your performance in The Witcher 3 or Arkham Knight. What I can tell you however, is that I used an i7 920 clocked at 4.1ghz until a month ago. I now have an i7 5820k clocked at 4.3 ghz, and my minimum fps has in many cases doubled.

Borderlands 2 (for instance) ran at at minimum fps of 37 in a specific location (non-fight) before; now it's over 80.
