ive asked this before and I didn't really know the name of my power supply and got told to upgrade to a better one but I have found this http://www.cplonline.com.au/thermaltake-lite-power-500w.html
that is the one I have and can it run a 280X?

I will still upgrade if I have to but I want to know if it will last 6 weeks at the least with the 280X.

can it run it and what are the best power supplys (aus) that are $100 or under?

thanks heaps

Lol... I'm afraid I have no knowledge of what is available in Australia. I have enough trouble keeping track of what's available here.
Using that tiered list as a guide, try to stay in the top 3 tiers. (I know... you did) The better PSUs are usually XFX, Seasonic, some Antec, non-CX Corsairs, and FSP to name a few. See if any of these are available in your area: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%20600479295&IsNodeId=1&Description=xfx%20power%20supplies&name=600W%20-%20699W&Order=BESTMATCH

This is a good budget 600W PSU: http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/b-series/b600/

I'll take back the "poor quality". That was unfair of me. But 2 x +12V rails rated at 16A and 14A are insufficient. Even if they could handle a full (30A x 12v) 360W, which I'm sure they can't, it would be too light for that 250W card. Maxed out, the card would draw almost 21A @ +12V. Peaks would be even higher.

And it only has a single 6 pin connector. The card will require 2. Again, not a sign of a true 500W PSU.

thanks for summing that up for me.
what power supply do you recommend to run the 280X

also can it be available in Australia thanks
