Can this PSU hold this system? Should i be worried?

Hey guys!

Another quick question. This is my build (any comments on the build itself would be welcome):

main: AsRock Z87 Extreme3
case: Zalman Z3 Plus
ssd: intel 530 series 120GB
ram: 8GB @1600MHz CL7
proc: i5 4590

I chose this motherboard because it seems to be the best price to performance option for a future crossfire build. (because of the x8/x8 3.0 slots)

My question is: With these components only and without overclocking anything ever, can that PSU hold this PC if i add another r9 280 later? the card has a TDP of 200W, so that would leave under 300W left for the rest of the system..

Any other suggestions? 😀

Yours personally isn't on there however I'd say it's a teir 4 supply. I'd suggest going with a Seasonic psu, would you like me to research some for you?

What will be the approximate total power comsumption of my system during gaming?

itwill kick out around 500 watts including moderate overclocking on the RAM and graphics card, if you were going to add a second card in the future I'd pick up another 280 and chose a 650-750 Semi/fully modular supply

No.. i'm interested in the total power output of the system with two cards, without any overclocking on any parts.

I'd say around 675. However giving it head room is generally quite good. It let's the psu work more efficiently,

it's fully modular, gold efficiency and way more trustable that a Zalman PSU also it seems to be cheaper than the Zalman PSU in the same kind of area, the PSU I selected is $109.

omg, i see that the card's TDP during gaming is nowhere close to 200W, it's 300W!

So, for now, i will stay with this PSU, and when i decide to add the second card, i will definitely buy a stronger PSU to give it the juice it needs.
