That's not a 1440p monitor its a 1080p monitor with a 144 refresh rate.
It will run that monitor easy might not get the 144 FPS in all games though.

Monitor I use with a GTX 980 not the best for first person shooters but I could never go back to 1080p now.
For your question I can't answer that for you. I would go to the 2K monitor but if you just play FPS games and are looking for every edge you can get then the 1080p monitor might be the best bet. I play some black ops and really don't card if you see me 20ms before I see you usually your net connection matters more than the monitor/
