Can this run games good?

CPU: AMD Athlon X2 64 5600+
RAM: 8GB
PSW: 500w
GPU: MSI GT640 2GB
Monitor: 20' 1600 x 900
Motherboard: A old MSI AM2 socket Mobo( I don't know what the mobo is bc uncle gave me this pc)

It will not be able to run the newest games, no. Well, maybe on Low settings. But there are a lot of older games it can definitely run well. Check the minimum system requirements for whatever games you want to play. And compare the GT 640 against others in its class on this chart. Yours is in the 13th row.
