Can Two PSU's power One GPU - Should I have 911 on speed dial?

Okay so I don't want hear how much of bad idea this is, cause I already know it is. I want to hear how likely it is to catch fire and if it will actually work.

So I've seen many posts stating you can run two PSU's one for GPU and one for the rest of the computer HOWEVER...I have not seen if you can have 1 6 pin from one PSU and 1 8 Pin from the other PSU connected to the GPU.

Now this is only for 3 days until my new PSU arrives if it possible. If it isn't possible or extremely risky please just say instead of saying just wait three days.

I am not an expert on the matter, but I think it should be safe. They are supposed to deliver the same voltage, no matter what psu u have.

Just keep your shirt on for couple of days, it's theoretically possible but you'd probably spend more time setting it up, troubleshooting and changing fuses.
