Can undervolting be dangerous?

I used to have my overclock at 4.5GHz at 1.320VCore for my i5 6600k, but I decided that the processor didn't need to be performing that high for my needs.

I underclocked it to 4.0GHz then and it's currently at 1.200VCore, STABLE. I don't know how, because at 4.5GHz it wouldn't go very far down without crashing, but here it is at 4.0GHz.

Overvolting degrades electrical pathways, it reduces the CPU's lifespan. If a CPU doesn't receive enough power can that damage it?

Thanks.

I think you misunderstood me.

I had overclocked it to 4.5GHz before, and later underclocked it to 4.0GHz.
It's still overclocked I know that, but less than before.

As for undervolting, it makes less heat and the chip's lifespan increases.
