Question can upgrade my bios on my asrock x470 sli

I ve tried to update the bios with a gen 2 ryzen and i get an error like no image found i have the usb formated and plugged in usb 2.0 what can i do ?

What BIOS version do you currently have on the motherboard and what version are you trying to flash ?

If you are using a version older than 1.90 you need to update the chipset drivers first then flash that version.
Chipset Driver:
http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Drivers/AMD/AllIn1/AllIn1(v19.10.08_19H1_WHQL).zip

Then flash version whatever newer version you need.
BUT if you have a Ryzen 2000 series CPU version 1.90 is the version that you want as it is optimized for your CPU.

The newer versions are for the 3000 series CPUs and will probably cause issues if you use them with a 2000 series CPU.

Make sure USB is formatted as FAT32. If the BIOS download was a .zip file, make sure you have extracted the files. Place the BIOS file in the root directory of the USB stick (i.e. not in a sub folder).

What BIOS version did you flash?

What exactly happens when you power on the PC? Do the lights come on and then turn back off in a bit, do lights/fans stay on but no display, etc. Can you still get into the BIOS?
