Can USB 2.0 board successfully go into a USB 3.0 ported case?

I am looking to buy a new PC case, the one I want says it has USB 3.0 ports on it. My motherboard will only be USB 2.0, so does this mean that this case is no good to me, or can I still connect them but only get USB 2.0 speeds from the USB 3.0 ports?? As you can probably tell, I'm quite the noob and this is my first build. :/

The ports would run as 2.0.

Your case should have a 2.0 front panel connection.

You can still use case.
