Can videogames lag because of broken RAM?

Hello, I've been playing some GTA Online recently and the game is lagging a lot compared to what rig I have (I should definitely run it without lags on at least at medium details, now running on everything lowest as possible, still lagging). I ran a memory test and got a message that the RAM has some issues. Could broken RAM cause lags in games? Thanks.

Yes. Bad ram can cause performance issues aswell as stability problems.
