Can vista be formatted without losing data in C drive

Hello,
can vista be formatted without losing data in C drive ??
I did't partition C Drive and have all my data ib that. my os is damaged and needs formatting . Is there any way I can format the same without losing my data

No, a reformat and reinstallation of Vista will wipe the drive and all data. You might try a repair installation of Vista which, if successful, will not format the drive and wipe all data.

Try Hitting the F8 button before your OS boots up and after post! Select last good know configuration, if that doesn't work select system restore to an earlier time when your sytem was working. Last resort you can reload your OS but don't reformat it or you lose your data!
