I have M5A97 r2.0 and my brother replaced the thermal pads from the cooler master v1 thermal paste.I am talking about the heatsinks on the motherboard. I don't know that it will work all time but now the results are just ok or just same as before. Airflow in my system is good and I don't feel anything serious. Only thing I felt is that the one heatsink in the middle is a bit more hotter. I think it maybe because of better conductivity but still worried. He told me that this will work just fine but we have to change the thermal paste once in 3 months of all the heatsink on motherbard, gpu(r7 370) and cpu(fx-8350) and system cooling is just awesome. I don't play to many games on it and temps are just fine all the time. Once played mgsv phantom pain about 5hrs in hot conditions but not a single issue. Need your suggestions guys.

Sounds fine, those chips don't get too hot anyway, i would say change it yearly as this paste is non curing.
Just don't use paste on the gpu memory, vrm

From what I know you shouldn't replace the thermal pads with paste. The pads can cover the gap that is between the heatsink and the motherboard (or in other cases the graphics card) while pastes cannot because they are more thin, more fluid. You try to fix heating problems by using an expensive paste instead of the pads and you might end up frying your pc.
However there is one thermal paste (as far as I know anyway) that can be used instead of thermal pads because it is more thick than the others.
It's name is k5 pro. I believe it is also cheaper than the one you are using now (I might also be wrong on this one 😛 )
Anyways. Hope this helped
