This is my first build. I'm used to a laptop and the function key for multimedia function. Now my function key only does windows stuff like f1 is for help and all. I don't know how to change the task of function keys. Is it depend on the keyboard? Because I've a budget keyboard. Am I able to get multimedia tasks on function keys?

What are details of the PC? DO you know what motherboard

Some answers suggest its a bios setting but I want to check. Those are mostly Laptops though

I know more expensive keyboards do it all with their manager software, my keyboard has too many function keys + media keys I hardly ever use... we should swap (joking)

You might want to look at these - https://www.pcmag.com/feature/362116/how-to-remap-your-keyboard (if you take any that change registry settings, make sure to backup registry first - https://www.thewindowsclub.com/backup-and-restore-registry-windows
