[SOLVED] Can we use DVD player optical drive into a pc ?

I have an old DVD player. can we reuse its optical drive for a PC
Like taking apart the optical drive and installing in a pc.

Both the power and data connections.
A standard DVD player outputs via HDMI or composite.
A PC DVD player talks via SATA.

The only things that are "the same" are the motor and the laser. The rest of the circuitry is completely different.
