My Mother board is the ASUS ROG Strix X299-E Gaming II X299 and has 8 Ram slots with a Max. Memory Capacity of 256GB (8x32GB).
It currently has 4 x 16gb sticks in.
I'm trying to upgrade and wish to allow myself an upgrade pathway to the maximum so I want to buy a stick of 32gb at a time as they are quite expensive. Would this work adding 1 stick of 32gb to an existing system of 4x16gb?
Is there any issues having 5 sticks of RAM or combining different sizes?
Other than the size, the sticks would be identical; same brand, speed etc.
