I let the kids use my pc for homework and browsing. I'd rather not start creating multiple accounts and using group policy to block all installations, but the moment I turn my back roblox is installed and they are not doing the homework. Is there any way to block just this one program from being installed?

(They have their own computers which are quite capable of doing whatever they want but always pleading to use mine for homework, why? I don't know 😒 but that is my reasoning for not wanting multiple accounts and group policies on my PC)

I appreciate your replies folks, thank you.

can't just said no?
I could say no until I go blue in the face, it would never stop them from pleading over and over, that's just kids for you. I rather do something about it on the pc if possible than get annoyed saying no over and over or finding that thing installed again and having yet another long talk about it. (yes it really is a mountains out of mole hills kind of problem I agree)

Why do these little people have access to an Admin account to install things?

A Standard User account will need the Admin password to install something. Don't give them that pwd.
Without going into to much detail we're talking about a child with ASD something about it being dads computer, dads account just makes them feel safer or more confident I suppose. Plenty of personal off-topic reasons for why im trying to do things this way.

As a dad and grandad, I get the weird kid things.

But a block like you're thinking of would probably be easily circumvented.

roblox.exe vs roblox1.exe

And, you might be able to promote the "safer" aspect of 'Dads account', in that it needs/requires/demands a password to install ANYTHING. No matter who is doing it...dad or the kid.
That is the way all my systems work, and have worked for decades.

Install something? OK, give the pwd.

Being a dad with kids that were persistent to a point of absolute insanity, I agree that some 'hidden' feature that causes that game not to work on your rig is a great "oh man" (not my fault) solution. The shame of it aspect being roblox will run on an absolute potato....

many moons ago i had a similar need and what i ended up doing was blocking the exe in the firewall and then changing the host file to misdirect the ip for the game. most likely it is a single ip for them to play and i just fixed the host file to send it nowhere instead of to the game server.

might be worth a shot anyway. should not be to hard to figure out the game ip
