Hello!

So i buyd a 500gb samsung 850 ssd yesterday and installed it and cloned my old 60+60gb ocz ssd in raid 0.

and its all working good but i think my speeds are kinda low, im at work atm so cant post benchmarks.

As in bios i have slot 1-4 set as raid 0 for the other 2 ssd's and then the samsung 500gb is as alone but its not in ahci mode.

And now i dont remember what port i pluged it in too it may be i have it in sata 2 slot will check once i get home.

Can i just change the sata slot its pluged in too or will i then need to reassign a letter etc? or does it still reconize it?

If you didn't plug into the reserved SATA ports for your RAID, you can change the SATA port without an issue. Nothing to set. Remember to set the SATA mode to AHCI or RAID for SSDs or else those trim commands will not run correctly that affects the life span of the SSD.

In my bios when i enable raid it will auto use slot 1-4 so i would need to put my ssd in slot 5-6 right? but if i remeber right i can only put raid or ide on those while 1-4 is raid/ahci and ide.

I have 2x ocz 60gb drives 1x samsung 850 evo 500gb and 1x normal 1tb hdd

So what would be best settings?

I have the asus m5a99x evo motherboard

From what i i remember sata 5-6 could only be raid or ide was not able to pick ahci.

So would it be better to put the 60gb ssd's in raid on 5-6 and use ahci on the rest 1-4?

i have my 1tb drive in port 1 then the 2 60gb ssd in 3and 4 and then my evo ssd in port 5
i tried chaning the ssd to just port 2 but it wont work as the comp wont start and i dont feel like assigning it in raid as i dont wanna reinstall everything.

now my evo ssd is in ide mode, but how come my 1tb drive can be alone and not in the raid seup even if its in port 1-4? why wont it work with my evo ssd?

I got i working yesterday as i have my 1tb drive in slot 2 then my evo 500gb in slot 4, and then my ssd¨s in port 5-6.

Now all works as it should except i cant put raid mode on as when i have port 1-4 in ahci i cant put port 5-6 as raid i need to have all ports 1-6 as raid but if i put raid on 1-4 i cant boot as i get blue screen just when windows is suposed to go into desktop.
