I have xfinity at home as my internet provider and have my cable modem and a wireless router in use there. But sometimes I am at a vacation home where I can get access to an xfinity hotspot and I would like to use a computer there (laptop). However, the xfinity hotspot signal is weak and only really accessible from one room which I don't want to be in to use the computer. Can I get a wireless router to connect to the xfinity hotspot and then have my laptop connect to that local wireless router?

The xfinity hotspot requires my login, so I am not sure if the wireless router can do this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
PHil

Thanks for the feedback. I am not looking for faster speeds so to speak, but the ability to have a stable connection to it, as now it drops in and out at best from most rooms. I can place the wireless router in the good area to have a stable connection and then connect to that from my laptop with a solid connection which is what i am after.

Do you have any recommendations on which router to got and put tomato or DDWRT on? I am somewhat familiar with DDWRT, but don't know what would be my best option. I don't want to break the bank on this either.

thanks again,
Phil
