Can you control fan speed on the mobo with a 3 pin fan and splitter

Hi,

As the title suggests, i'm having trouble not having 3 of the fans on max speed using a fan splitter, i've got 3 SP120's hooked up to the motherboard using an Akasa fan splitter (Molex powered). The motherboard is an x370 k4 and i've tried all headers on the mobo, adjusting through bois DC mode for all headers supporting it and also the PWM mode. I've also tried speedfan and the AMD tuning utility and cannot get the fans below 1500rpm (Max speed)

are those 3pin or 4pin fan power cables?

Fans are 3 pin, mobo and splitters are 4 pin

have you tried them without the splitters? 3pin is dc mode
