Question Can you convert HDDs with eSATA to SATA?

I'm looking at some drives on ebay that appear to have an eSATA port. The part number indicates a normal SATA + Power drive. Looking at the pictures, it looks like the drive is wrapped in foil and maybe there is a PCB attached to he back of the drive converting it from SATA to eSATA. I am just looking to see if anyone has anyone had drives like this and knows what is under the foil?

That's not an ESATA port. That's Micro USB Type B Superspeed.

You need to peel that foil back to see if the USB port is soldered to the drive, or if it's attached to it via a removable SATA-USB adapter.

Haven't bought them yet!
In that case I wouldn't buy them until you know what's under the foil. This is a drive that's been shucked from an external 2.5" HDD enclosure. Some of the later ones have the USB port soldered to the drive, and they can't be converted to regular SATA use.

@USAFRet makes an important point, I wouldn't touch a shucked used 2.5" HDD with a ten foot pole.
