can you convert stereo to mono?

hi! i got my condenser microphone the BM-800 a few months ago and it worked but yesterday it somehow did not work i had to get a new xlr cable but when i plugged in the new xlr cable i can only hear on my left side my only clue is that there might be a problem with the new xlr cable the lady at the store might've assembled it the wrong way.

Most likely a cable problem.

Mono and stereo use different wiring configurations. The plug is the key and the connections to the plug must be made correctly.

Google "TS, TRS, TRRS" Tip, Sleeve, Ring.

There are many links, images, and videos describing the differences.

Check if your cable has the correct plugs. If so, then the connections between the plug and cable may not have been correctly made or properly made.

Confirm that the cable is indeed the problem and then return the cable.
