I have an AMD, AM3+ system with a Asus Nvidia GTX770 direct OC graphics card. i was thinking about getting another GTX770 and crossfiring them together. my motherboard is only compatible with Crossfire and not SLI. my question is: can you crossfire Nvidia GTX's together or can you only SLI them?

Solution
Crossfire is AMD, SLI is Nvidia. Simple as that.

The newer AMD cards Crossfire via the PCI itself, and don't use a bridge, but the Nvidia cards use an SLI bridge (sometimes comes with a new card) that plugs them together.

What's your motherboard?

Ah OK that's pretty much what i thought.
its a Gygabyte GA-970A-DS3. i know already that it definitely isn't compatible with SLI so ill have to hold out until i have enough for another MB or a gtx 980. or just get an radeon r9 something or other and crossfire those.
many thanks datguy20
