Can you damage anything by using ram with unsupported speeds by CPU?

Hi,
I have a pc with a z270 MSI Gaming Plus motherboard, which supports all the ddr4 memory speeds up to something crazy like 3200mhz I think.

Someone told me that my intel i5-7600 (NOT k) did not support the Corsair vengeance ddr4 3000mhz ram I had installed (1 x 16gb). I didn't even know that compatibility with the cpu was a thing. He said that I should replace my ram with 2400mhz because my current ram would fry my cpu or mobo.

Also, just to be safe, I have a cs750 power supply, which I now realize is for a much older generation of cpus (Haswell or Broadwell I think), is that going to be an issue? I am going to buy a gtx 1080 fe as well.

Hi,
You should not worry. The SPD is 2133, so I guess that those RAMs run at 2133. Check that with CPU-Z.
The CS should be just fine.
