I’m just about ready to sell my 5900x as it’s constantly stuttering in starcraft2. Yes it’s an old game but I still play. Computer plays cyberpunk perfectly mind you. Tried everything including full reinstall. With and without amd chipset drivers. Going down to pcie 3.0 seems to help.
tried moving the game around to different ssds in both m2 slots and even sata stutters. Tried swapping my 3090 with my wife’s 3070 and same stuttering. Tried WiFi and Ethernet. Runs smoothly if I put my 9900k and mono back in same system.

5900x
Gskill bdie 16gb x 2 3600 cas 16
Asus b550f gaming
Infinity fabric at 1800
3090 FE
Samsung 970 1tb
Samsung 850 1tb

Reason I’m thinking it might help is that using windows scheduler and limiting it to first 6 cores seems to help

Solution
Was the 5900X/B550 and 3090FE given a fighting chance with a fresh install of everything, including OS, all needed chipset/Ryzen/GPU drivers, fresh game install config for new system?)

This seemd to not be the case based on above verbage...

Everything was wiped clean with all ryzen drivers and latest nvidia drivers.
I’ll give it another try but Intel is way easier to set up. Just install windows, gpu drivers, and then the games. No need to chipset drivers and pbo settings....
