Gaming build I am planning to build for my sister, she has a rough budget of $600 USD. I will be selling her my old 7870XT for $200 and we do not need an OS.

So basically a rough $400 to work with this is what I came up with, what do you think?

CPU: FX-6300 $120
MOBO: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 $60 (bundled with CPU at Microcenter)
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1600 2x4 $65
GPU: Sapphire 7870XT $200 (My old GPU)
PSU: Corsair Builder 500W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V $60
CASE: NZXT Tempest 210 $40

TOTAL: $545

We are thinking about adding a SSD since we are below budget, what do you think?

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks in Advance,

Luke

Edited to account for the used 7870XT. Considering what is available for $200 you are overcharging, but I listed it as already purchased so you can make that call.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Motherboard: ASRock B75M-DGS R2.0 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($54.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($52.99 @ Newegg)

Hey dude! I can do better. So.. Let me list the parts.
Cpu: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor 209.99$ (Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI B75MA-E33 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard 57.23$ (Outlet PC)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory 66.99$ (NCIX Us)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card 169.99$ (Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case 34.99$ (Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 430W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply 39.99$ (Amazon)

This pc is better for gaming although in the future if you would want to overclock you would simply have to change the motherboard. Btw there is no major difference between the 7870 XT and 7870 Ghz when it comes to performance. So I went with the one from sapphire (a great company!) !
This build has crazy performance. Hope I helped a ton!
