Hi all.
Does anyone know how to encrypt a drive (e.g. flash drive, SD card, external hard drive) with Veracrypt without formatting the drive?
I encrypted one micro SD card using the encryption program Veracrypt, but I had to format (and therefore) erase the drive.
This means that if I wanted to encrypt something large like an external hard drive I would have to: 1) Format (and thus erase) the existing data on it, 2) Encrypt it (which can take a significant amount of time), 3) Transfer the original files back onto the drive.
This would make for a very time consuming process for just one drive and I have multiple drives I would like to encrypt.
So with that said, is there a way to encrypt a drive that already has files on it with Veracrypt without formatting the drive?
Thank you.
