hey guys im building an office computer for my mom. i need to build it cheap but have it be good. i have everything except the cpu, mobo and ram. i have no preference on amd or intel, but it would be nice if its more power then my moms current cpu which is the AMD Phenom II X4 925. I would also like to make the motherboard micro atx to fix with her current case.

which budget but good combo should i get for my moms office pc? please give me recommendations! thanks!

I would buy a decent board with a fast 2 core CPU with hyper threading
Much better than the AMD she has.

Honestly, simpliest, easiest and most of all WARRANTIED (we are talking your Mom, so with a warranty anything goes wrong your not to blame) go to Walmart, pick up a Laptop, they start at $249 for 'business / basic use' (aka open email, open webpage, write a document, watch training videos on youtube, etc.) and your done. She also benefits that she can take this around the house, so she gets a nice idea for the garden, a recipe for the kitchen to try, wants to watch a Netflix in her bed, she can take the laptop anywhere and she can use it everywhere. She will love you for the convenience.

thanks everyone for your comments. i went with the g4400 and msi board.

not much cable management i know, but this thing is working great. because the socket is new in 5 years i can drop a new cpu in and this thing will last a long time. got a new case too, only 25 bucks total from ebay! thanks again bros my mom is computing a storm!
