Can you have a look at my planned PC build

Hello I am planning to buy and build this PC https://www.pccasegear.com/wish_lists/563695 and I would like to have your opinion on it and see if there's any problem.
I would like this computer to last a while (4-5 years) and I plan to use it mostly for gaming.
I would also like to know if I should hold out until AMD releases ZEN and the prices of the card to drop?
because my friend told me that the price drop will only be about $100 on my card and if that's the case then I think I might just get it now.

thankyou for your time.

I would be more tempted to hold out for the release of the new GPU ranges from AMD and NVidia. That is a decent build though if you do decide to buy now.

but would I be able to afford it? because I thought that the new GPUs were for high end machines.

If you're looking at buying an R9 390 then you would be able to afford something from the new range of GPU's. I don't know AMD's plans but I would be surprised if the initial list doesn't include a R9 490 and NVidia will release a 1070 GTX. I have heard reviews for the Nvidia cards will come out in the middle of May, not sure about AMD.

It's up to you, if you've got a system with a GPU in it at the moment you could always buy the rest of the parts and make do with your old GPU. Prices on the 390 are unlikely to go up between now and then.

I did a bit of research and it looks like the new chips won't be out until Q4 2016 or early 2017. so I think I am going to get it now and upgrade to a new card in about 2-4 years? I am not worried about the 390's prices going up because I think it will go down a bit (friend said about $100) since they will be releasing a new GPU. I also had a look into AMD's CPU and I honestly don't think it will be much better then the Intel CPU that we have now with AMD's CPU being weaker and all.

Pascal is due out in June, and everything I have read suggests Polaris will be out before the end of the summer. I can totally understand why you would buy now and the 390 is a decent card. Personally I would wait on the GPU but it's your call, that card will definitely still be decent in two years time.

Zen is interesting but I wouldn't hold out for it. AMD has been promising huge improvements for a while that haven't really happened. If it gets good reviews and I am in the market for a CPU I might take a look at it but it won't be influencing my buying decisions.

I don't know anything about Pascal or Polaris can you tell me if these cards are going to give me a great performance boost compared to what I have now or just a bit? because I think I am getting one of the best card on the market right now so if a better one comes out I don't think there will be much of a difference.

Generally speaking (and this is a only generally) what you find is something like this, in the new range a card will perform like the card from the tier above in the old range. You have to be a bit more careful with AMD because they've been doing a lot of rebranding of their cards.

So for them the 390 isn't totally a new card vs 290 and you won't see the same pattern. However AMD's new GPU's are genuinely new this time which is what makes it likely that (names to be confirmed) a R9 390 might only perform as well as a R9 480.

Both Nvidia and AMD are dropping their process size in the new range which should also mean that the cards run cooler and are less power hungry... or can fit more power in the same space. I don't normally get that excited about such things but I really believe that it is worth holding out on the GPU.

i.e.

a 1070 will match a 980
a 1080 will match a 980 ti

so the new cards will be about 10 fps better then R9 390x? that's what I got comparing the 380 and the 390.

That's a nice psu in that build, but you can do with something less expensive like,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/28100/evga-supernova-b2-750w-power-supply
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/33123/xfx-xtr-series-750w-gold-modular-power-supply
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/27992/evga-supernova-g2-gold-750w-power-supply
all still (semi) modular.Maybe that the money saved can be used for something else like another motherboard that looks really nice in a case with a window or just keep it in the pocket.

I would like to use a different and cheaper PSU but after checking a PSU calculator it said I use more then 750W so I need a 800W PSU.

No you don't need more than 750watt,even a 650watt psu would do fine with these parts. If you went for crossfire one day that could be needed, but then would i advice a good 850watt psu to be sure.So for a single gpu build is a 750watt already overkill, but these were the ones that are (semi) modular and of good quality plus a decent price.

I think you might be right. maybe I can change this for a 600W PSU. thanks man!

I'm thinking of getting this.

Since you saved some money and you have a window in the case would i spend some of it on this motherboard,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/33795/asrock-fatal1ty-h170-performance-motherboard

You have 2400mhz ram in the build, with B150/H170 motherboards will that run at 2133mhz,they don't support higher speed ram, maybe look at 2133mhz ram or upgrade to a Z170 motherboard if you want higher speed ram.Something like this would be fine with the H170 motherboard,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32809/kingston-hyperx-fury-hx421c14fbk2-16-16gb-2x8gb-ddr4-black
even cheaper so saved some money as well.2133mhz with a cas latency of 14.

does my current motherboard have a problem? what will be the benefits to having this board?

Updated my previous answer.

The benefit would be a great looking build,i assume you have a window so you can look at the parts.Other thing is that it will have a better audiochip, small stuff like that.It also has an M.2 pcie slot for an ssd that would fit there, well like i said stuff like that.

And looking further, for an hdd would i rather use these at the same pricepoint,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/24833/seagate-st1000dx001-desktop-sshd-1tb
or
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/19554/seagate-barracuda-2tb-st2000dm001
or cheaper,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/19747/seagate-barracuda-1tb-st1000dm003
with the money saved by buying different parts could you maybe add an ssd,Something like this one,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/30448/samsung-850-evo-250gb-ssd
if you want to save money,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32132/sandisk-ultra-ii-240gb-2-5in-ssd
for a 120gb,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/34627/samsung-750-evo-120gb-ssd
or ,
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32131/sandisk-ultra-ii-120gb-2-5in-ssd
an 120gb ssd is alreay small that's why i first gave the 250gb ones, the Samsung 840 250gb with the seagate 1tb hdd a good option imo.

okay I will take your advice it's only a 3 dolor price difference when I take the ram that you chose for me.

something like this: https://www.pccasegear.com/wish_lists/563695

anything else I should be careful of?

thanks mate. I will be getting the Seagate HDD instead of the toshiba. as for SSD I plan to use my SSD in my laptop. I read somewhere if I format it I can use it or something.
and I do not have a dualband router I think. is it WiFi? I already have a modem router that has WiFi.

Cosinder this PSUs:
750W(Tier 1)
650W (Tier 2)
(I would go with EVGA G2 (also instead of B2 u chose), 10y EVGA warranty is + and 750 is more "future-proof")

U can always sell R9 390X and buy card from new architecture or buy something like gtx950 for waiting game, sell it, and buy R9 390X for lower price or new Polaris/Pascal card

Dual-band router uses the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands -> "has two kinds of Wi-Fi network"
and for gaming is better to be connected by a cable if it's possible IMO (multiplayer games of course :) )

yes now that I think about it I already have dualband. I was thinknig of getting this.: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/31294/edimax-ac1200-dual-band-pci-e-adapter
it supports 5ghz too.

also should I get a windows seven because windows 10 have privacy concerns and all?

Vic 40

Since you have the dualband capability is that wifi adapter a decent choice.

What privacy concerns do you have? I would just use the latest o.s. W10.It also has is capable of using DX12 which W7 can't.
