Hi guys. So I am interested in upgrading from my 6 year old monitor. And I have narrowed my choices down to these two:
Acer S243HL bmii 24" Widescreen LED Slim Monitor - 1080p, 1920x1080, 2ms, 16:9, VGA, 2x HDMI
ASUS VW246H Glossy Black 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000:1 (1000:1) Built-in Speakers
I mainly will use it for ps3/360 and some starcraft 2.
If this matters at all I have a i7 860 system with a 5770 gpu.
Now the Acer is LED backlit and is a reasonable price, but I read somewhere (I think CNET) that for gaming and movie purposes the monitor should have at least a 300 cd/m2 brightness rating? (Acer LED only has 250) Is this right?
the asus does have a 300 rating but its a year old and LED backlit is newer tech?
The only think holding back from buy the LED monitor is the brightes. Am I worrying to much about the brightness rating?
Thank You
