Hello,

I have an Asus X550JX (at least that's what Crucial detects and it matches the pictures on Google, I bought this in a trip to France and it says RS10J, I'm sorry I don't know much about the subject). The computer's graphic's is a NVidia GeForce GTX 950M and in the GeForce Experience it always tells me to run games like The Sims 4, Football Manager 2016, etc, on High settings, but my RAM always fails to keep up.

My RAM is 4GB DDR3 and I wish to add another 4GB so I can have at least 8GB to game. I have tried the Crucial Online Chat but they can never recommend me anything and keep asking for the number of black ships on my card and I have no idea where to find that or where that is without opening the computer.

Keep in mind that I'm installing a new RAM with an old one.

What do you guys recommend? Plus, can I buy a DDR3L and install it with a DDR3?

Thanks!

1| If we're going by the information provide by you and Crucial, then the maximum ram support is 32GB albeit provided you're running on an i7 off that laptop but this specifications page says otherwise.

2| That being said, you should not go for another separate stick of 4GB of ram. Instead you should go for a kit of 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz ram running at 1.35v~1.5v. Ram upgrades should be seen as shoes, if you loose one out of a pair, the shoe store owner/salesman will be selling you a pair as opposed to just one out of a pair. Similarly if you're going to upgrade your ram, you should change both and a kit is prescribed since they will both be matched and in unison when compared to two different brands/make/models...

3| I'd suggest you go for a 8GB kit and be done with it.

4| Where are you located btw? Here's one suggestion.

5| You could shoot us an image of the sticker placed at the bottom of your laptop though for added measure in clarification. Further reading.
