Ok so my setup is
FX 6350 3.9ghz
8gb single channel 1866mhz RAM
R9 270 XFX
CX600M psu
Gigabyte DSP3 970 mobo

So i want to grab a new GTX 970 because how low wattage it is and the good price of it,

But really should i Buy a new i5 and a new mobo? or Just grab a FX8350 instead and clock it high? (i have H80i WC)

Solution

you should be able to clock higher on that mobo, at the very very least 4.3 Ghz. You will feel a big difference. The FX 8350 is better but makes most sense for a gaming + render machine. If youre going to get a new CPU you should just go intel, you wont feel very big gains going from an FX 6350 to an FX 8350 (at least at the same clock speeds).
i would just get a cooler and clock the FX 6300 higher. Worst case scenario you can buy the FX 8320 later on and still use the cooler. But i think youll find the FX 6350 at 4.4 or 4.5 Ghz will be very close to a stock FX 8320 in terms of performance.

i already said i have h80i which i think is really good cooler

And btw i really dont mind getting a new CPU and i know FX 6350 does the job but wouldn't an FX 8350 do it better? for future?

i was actually thinking of going with an i7 4790k with an asus Sabertooth mobo the M one but i was really thinking about it all the time, like do i really need an i7? and btw if i wanna go with the i7 solution i would have to wait till february to get it and the 970 is arriving like 5 to 6 days so also could my FX 6350 handle the GTX 970 till February?

lots and lots of questions xD

everyone in the whole universe is telling me an FX 8350 is Enough save money for something else like SSD and stuff, so i dont really know xD
