Hey guys!

I used to build my gaming PCs but no longer have much time and I feel like the potential savings isn't what is was say 10 years ago.

So... I've been hesitating between these 2 (please note these are Canadian prices) :

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/produc...-i7-11700f-1tb-ssd-16gb-ram-rtx-3070/15463574

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/produc...0x-1tb-ssd-16gb-ram-geforce-rtx-3060/15397184

I'm looking for a well rounded gaming PC that I won't have to change anything for a good 3-4 years minimum.
Do you think the SSDs included are NVMe?
I'd like it to be able to run Elden Ring properly on a 144hz monitor.

Thanks!

Solution
Here's another option. This gpu meant for gaming at 1080P.

Lian Li LANCOOL 215 X Gaming Case $129.99

Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB) CL16 $87.99...
a i7-11700F + RTX 3070 is definitely going to give some better fps with some better graphical settings in-game compared to the 5800x + RTX 3060.

but for any real comparison and recommendation you will have to determine what make & model power supply and what CPU cooler both system's are equipped with.

also read any provided warranty information offered by the manufacturer before purchase.
if either do not include shipping, parts & labor for any decent amount of time you do not want them.

i would always recommend going to any locally owned computer shops and comparing their options for building custom systems before purchasing anything pre-built like these.
Do you think the SSDs included are NVMe?
if Best Buy doesn't include the specifics regarding drive make & model contact the manufacturer for details.

Thank you so much for the detailed suggestion but I really don't have the time to build it myself and especially risk having issues while building it / replacing parts etc.

So I was about to purchase this one (1st from my original post)
https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/hp-omen-30l-gaming-pc-intel-core-i7-11700f-1tb-ssd-16gb-ram-rtx-3070/15463574?irclickid=1QpTbkWolxyIRN2wXL3T83lyUkGT:xw93zGNxM0&ref=affiliate&utm_content=221109&utm_source=IR&acmp=Future PLC.&utm_term=641744&irgwc=1

But I took a look at Walmart's gaming PC and found this one:
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/cyberp...op-amd-ryzen-5-5600x-gma9108wv3/6000203139384

It seems like the one from Walmart has a slightly better CPU. The GPU is a RTX 3060 but is had 12GB instead of BestBuy's 8GB so I'm unsure which GPU is better.

And then there's this one from Staples.ca (also a RTX 3060 12GB but the CPU is a i7-12700KF):

the i7-11700F is actually quite a bit better than the 5600x.
and the 8GB RTX 3070 is quite a bit better than the 12GB 3060, even with less VRAM.

but the ABS pre-built systems from Newegg are better overall than either HP Omen or anything from Cyberpower.
the Omen systems are known to be loaded with lower quality components; RAM, motherboard, PSU, cooling, drives, etc.
and Cyberpower is known for having some of worst quality assurance and customer support; incorrectly installing parts, etc without proper testing and having very shady warranty services.
if going for a system with a higher-end i7 12th gen you may want to also go ahead with a higher end GPU that can make full use of it's processing power, ie; RTX 3080, 3080 Ti, 3090...
being included with a pre-built system you can sometimes save at least a few hundred dollars on the included GPU vs MSRP.

not that an RTX 3070 will cause any issues for you but the i7-12700KF can process and provide much more graphical data than a 3070 can keep up with so having a higher-end RTX will provide a lot more fps and better in-game graphical quality.
