Can you install Roller Coaster Tycoon for 95/98 on Windows 8.1?

I'm trying to install Roller Coaster Tycoon for Windows 95/98 on Windows 8.1 and I keep getting the message 'The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application.' What does this mean and is it even possible to install Roller Coaster Tycoon on a Windows 8.1 operating system?

Download and drag the roller coaster tycoon setup file into dosbox. You could probably run the game from dosbox as well

It isn't possible with the orignal install disc and I've never tried dosbox.
Luckily GoodOldGames has it
GOG RCT
They update the installer and whatever binaries are required to make an old game run on a modern OS. I've bought a couple games from them and have never had any problems. Also pricing is very reasonable, and they have a 30 day return policy. Have fun!
