my motherboard has 2 cpu fan slots (as alot that ive looked at do). i was wondering if i could plug a case fan into the extra cpu fan slot. i understand that this fan would spin when the cpu fan spins but is it even possible?

my case can connect 6 fans. i only have 3 fan slots tho (excluding the extra cpu fan). im just looking for a way to connect an extra one. (sorry for repeating myself so much)

It's perfetcly ok to plug a case fan into the secondary CPU header. Only downside is that it will be managed according to CPU temperature and not case temperature but it's not a big deal. You can also buy or make yourself Y-adapters 3-pin to 2 x 3pin (and plug 2 fans in a single motherboard header, but don't plug more than 2):

or use a Molex-to-3pin adapter(s):

same but for 4 fans:

Yeah that should be fine. Expect that fan to run faster and more often.
