can you put a desktop motherboard in a laptop form factor

i know how this sounds but could you put a full desktop motherboard in a laptop form factor. maybe have the graphics card horizontal instead of verticle. and what about cooling could you have a laptop form of cooler, or 2. also what about a psu is there a shrunken psu.

Notebooks to not have a standard board as such. some parts are standard for mobile, but the board it self can be any shape that fits.

If you check around the internet many users have made ultra small desktop pc. Many times in a custom enclosure or briefcase type for factor. These are not nearly as compact as a laptop.

Many laptop parts also consume less power and thus require less cooling. Think about a batter to run 100 watts of cpu and 200-300 watts of video card(and a monitor and board/ect).

You can find some very small mITX cases, but you may have to build a custom case to attempt this.
